Discovering Bergen, the Jewel of North Holland.
Bergen was one of those little getaways that we decided to do at the last minute without major planning but ultimately left us speechless and for the best reasons. So, and after returning from this unique place, nothing better than to continue to live these moments and turn them into words showing a little of what we know in these two days. I can say that I have never felt so happy not knowing what to find, just exploring and dazzling with all the surrounding. This time we drifted and how good it was that we got lost.
I would not say that there was a better way to end the summer of 2019 and so on this last summer weekend of heat and sun, we set off with a backpack to get to Bergen and spend two nights there.
How to get to Bergen?
Bergen is about 50 kilometers from Amsterdam and travel from Amsterdam Central takes up to one hour and 30 minutes by public transport, in which case it is possible to travel by train to Alkmaar Central Station and from there take a bus in a journey that takes about ten minutes. Getting to Bergen by car takes a maximum of one hour and ten minutes.
