Discovering The Hague — Part II
After visiting the Louwman Museum (Discovering The Hague — Part I) it was time to get to know the city centre.
After returning to The Hague Central Station on a journey that took ten minutes by bus, we resumed our visit along the main avenue full of shops and restaurants. This boulevard is located behind the large foreign business building right next to The Hague central station.
Nieuwe Kerk — The Hague
On the same avenue near the Pathé cinema, we took a detour after lunch to find one of The Hague’s most striking buildings — the “Nieuwe Kerk”, designated as the “new” Hague church.
It was founded in 1656 and is one of the oldest buildings in The Hague city center and also a national monument. Nieuwe Kerk is part of the Top 100 of the Dutch UNESCO monuments.
