Poem: Dance by the Sea

In times of pandemic, I said goodbye to the land of my heart on a warm visit, before returning to the Netherlands where I currently live, I watched one of the most beautiful sunsets I have seen to date and wrote a poem about it.

Carvoeiro , Algarve (Portugal)

The sky was painted strictly, pink, purple and blue,
The moon rose when least expected,
She entered the scene in disguise,
From orange in the sky shyly danced,
I watched the waves,
At an unparalleled point,
It was out of the question,
This wonderful orchestrated seaside show,
On September 1,
As if they both agreed,
Across the horizon,
The sun gave its opinion with its reflection shining,
Completed this day’s farewell,
On the verge of my departure,
Orange was the color of the farewell as if to indicate my destiny,
The red of love that I leave and lead to my path,
In this dance to the sound of the sea,
Like a feather,
I let myself go,
Like a brush i flowed through the most beautiful colors
That i will forever in my heart lapidate.
