What if you travel to Belgium and return with delicious Belgian Chocolates made by you?
When we think of travelling to Belgium, there are always three magic words that come up: waffles, french fries and Belgian chocolates.
The famous Belgian Chocolate
I personally was keen to taste the different types of Belgian chocolates. But when my boyfriend and I planned this trip to the capital of Belgium, my desire was not only to taste the Belgian chocolates but to understand the history behind their manufacture and learn the art of making this so prestigious chocolate. We decided to opt for a Belgian chocolate preparation workshop.
The History behind the most famous Belgian Chocolate
The story behind the most famous Belgian Chocolate, Praline, curiously is linked to my professional branch.
When and how was the first Belgian chocolate Praline produced?
This Belgian chocolate was first produced in 1912 by the pharmacist Jean Neuhaus in Brussels. In the process of preparing medicines, this pharmacist tried to devise a way to make them easier to administer, starting by wrapping his pharmaceutical preparations in chocolate, and then adding ganache, honey and thus creating the first Praline.
